| Project Description:
We are looking for a programmer to create custom firmware for the following mobile phones: Samsung B3310 and/or Samsung B2700 We distribute the phones with a pre-installed java application that is a timing application, similar to a stopwatch. For the java application to run efficiently, we need custom firmware. As a general outline, we require the developer to create firmware with the following requirements: * Does not use any processes or applications that are not essential to the java software * Runs java / j2me applications with fastest speed possible * Fastest possible bluetooth response time for j2me application * Java applications are able to utilize the core timings of the microprocessors, so that accuracy of timings sent to the java applications is maximized * Java applications are able to play sound files as quickly as possible, and without either the start or end of the audio being truncated. Sound files can be embedded into the firmware. * The java applications are not able to be copied from the phone (we need to protect our software from piracy) We do NOT have the source code to standard firmware, but if existing firmware can be modified rather than the code being written from scratch, this would be acceptable. Although it may be easier to create the firmware from scratch. Essentially we are asking for phone firmware that does nothing more than run java applications as efficiently as possible, plays sound files quickly and correctly, is capable of using bluetooth with all the typical features, and java applications can access core timings from the microprocessors.
