Newly added descriptions: This request is for a bid to for development of a simple dictionary for use on a PDA (and the Internet). A list of words is displayed, and a double click on a word brings up a definition and picture (and possibly a mpeg4 video). That is it. Options in terms of slowing the video, and networking the dictionary on LAN would be desirable but not essential. The picture or video element should be displayed so as to fill the available space for the element. The words list should be displayed under the options "All Words" or under one of the categories (computer words, science, etc.). The same application (or site) should ideally work on all platforms - Mac, pc, PDA, mobile phone, etc. It is OK if the site is hosted on the internet and the PDA simple accesses the site through a password that is tied to the IP of the PDA. For the right person, I expect that the framework would take no longer than a few days. The site configuration should be through text file, or any other means that are easy to edit. It would also be desirable to have a simple quiz - a picture (or video) is displayed and the user has to select from 4 or 5 choices as to what the word is. A running score is kept to give users a feedback how many answers they have got right or wrong. When a user gets the answer right, a video is displayed and then the next question is displayed. If the user get the answer wrong, a video is displayed, the answer correct answer is displayed, and then the next question is displayed. We have many projects, and this would be first of many for the right people. This project will test your ability to work with us and a measure of your professionalism. Previously we used to do all the development in-house, and we are looking to form an on-going relationship in terms of outsourcing. |
