Project Description:
We are interested in developing a clone of www.fon.com The objective is to create a simple download that will enable a WiFi community, open to anyone who wishes to join, and connect to the Internet for free from anywhere in the world. A user will register "for free", must have broadband connection, and download our software onto their computer/ router. The software download converts their router into a Secure Social Router. We will most likely have certain controls, like number of users allowed at 1 time, amount of bandwidth 1 or more users can use, or a kick off feature.. It must be very easy to download and install.. once installed, needs to be simple to use. We would also need to have the ability for a user to know when they are picking up a community signal. They can then jump on and use the other members wireless connection for free. It is very important that the application is VERY SECURE.. We also want to develop it so that it works with a wide range of compatible routers. Software can be based on open source: OpenWRT.org and dd-wrt.org Please bid only if you have the proper background and experience to develop such a download application. We also suggest having a background in Download Software, Security Software, & Wireless Networking, as we want to ensure that our members computers are safe from others who would be using their wireless. The application must be stable and programmers should have previous experience. We don't want to be crashing anyones computer. If you have experience with applications like Kazaa, Napster, Morpheus and other P2P apps, you will have a better understanding of what we hope to achieve. Please review www.fon.com and even try their product. How can we make it bigger and better? |
