Project Description:

website/ecommerce site

Ecommerce website overhaul. If you have not designed a US based Ecommerce site, please do not submit a bid. Please email us with a list of ecommerce (retail) sites you have designed along with your bid..

My website caters to retail consumer electronics and accessories. The new site needs to be aesthetically pleasing and VERY user friendly. The site needs to be search engine friendly. Our existing site is www.nycelectronics.com and it is primarily connected to an access database (5000-20000 products at any given time). Most pages are created using ASP. I have also hard coded some pages such as the home page hot items area and the following pages:

http://www.nycelectronics.com/ad/xm.htm

http://www.nycelectronics.com/ad/sirius.htm

http://www.nycelectronics.com/ad/svm-25ls.htm

The reason I hard coded these pages is so I can control the layout and update the content easily. These four pages also contain the items I sell about 95% of the time. I realize there is a better way for me to highlight my satellite radio products and you need to implement that in your solution. I also hard codes these pages as I do a lot of pay per click on these item and it is easier to send a person looking for a XM radio directly to the XM page so they can see all of my XM products on one page (not only the item they searched for). This is very important to me.

The home page should feature our best selling items.

I want to change my hosting company also and would like a recommendation for one. I want to also change my credit card processor and will LIKELY use Authorize.net. The new hosting company will need to be able to supply a SSL.

I am leaning towards using OSCommerce MS2, Zencart or CRELoaded because these cart work with my order manager software. You can find more information on all of the carts my order managers works with at: http://www.stoneedge.com/cartmatrix.htm

I am open to other cost effective carts that give me control over what I require during checkout and site layout. Basically, I want full control of the checkout process.

The new website should be able to implement tracking codes from Yahoo, Adwords, and other pay per click tracking codes.
I also want full control to be able to access the web site log files so I can perform user analysis on what people are buying or not buying.

The website I would suggest modeling after is: http://www.dbldistributing.com/index.php?main_page=index

This is a wholesale only site and we are a retail site. Anyone should be able to shop at our site and create an account (if they should choose so) for future purchases.

Customer needs be able to get a quick shipping cost estimate WITHOUT having to go through the checkout process. There should be something on the page that lets the customer get a quick shipping cost estimate.

There needs to be a product search and advanced search capability.

Many manufacturers require we do not show the item price if it is below their MAP price (minimum advertised price). We need to have the capability to not show the item price until the customer adds the item to the cart. You need to display something like “ADD TO CART TO SEE PRICE” no obligation. There should also be a hyperlink that tells the person why we can’t show the price if they wish to see the reason.

Below is an example:
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PXC-300-Cancelling-Headphones/dp/B00079PNU6/sr=8-1/qid=1157485794/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-5787535-8909724?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

There needs to be an indicator that states if the item is out of stock or not.

I would like to be able to display some affiliate ads on the right side of the page.

Site needs be able to accept our primary checkout method using our shopping cart or be able to use the new Google Checkout process.

Need to be able to generate the Froogle feed for our products.

Site needs to be able to work on all major web browsers without requiring plug ins.

Our logo is displayed on our website at: http://www.nycelectronics.com/NYClogo.jpg

Customer needs to have the choice of creating an account or checking out without creating an account. Of course if they are a returning customer, they simply can log in.

As previously mentioned, I have anywhere between 5000-20000 items in my catalog. Of course, these need to be loaded into the site along with the code as the code is useless without the products. Also, I need to be able to add, delete, and change product info on a regular basis. This needs to be a simple automated and not time consuming process.

The new site needs to be loaded on to my new hosting company and tested to be functional. Of course, I would need a tutorial on the administration of the site and admin console.

I would be happy to further define or clarify any of my requirements.
