Text Configuration file manipulation software. ---------------------------------------------------- This should be a tiny application which will probably take a good developer around a day or two. The budget for this application is $80. General requirements: 1.¡¡¡¡Platform – Windows XP professional. 2.¡¡¡¡Language – VB. 3.¡¡¡¡Graphic application used for changing values in text configuration files. 4.¡¡¡¡The files will look like this: [General] Computer¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡=Localhost NumberOfImages ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡= 100 ZeroPosition¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡=1 Mode¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡= 0 Skip¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡=0 Position¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡=0 5.¡¡¡¡The application should be able to find multiple files and make changes to the values of the parameter defined. 6.¡¡¡¡General look of the application: 7.¡¡¡¡The user interface explained: a.¡¡¡¡Root directory – the user will select a root directory where the configuration files will be searched. Examples: i.¡¡¡¡C:\Temp ii.¡¡¡¡X:\data b.¡¡¡¡File filter – a regular expression supporting filter. Example: i.¡¡¡¡Config.ini ii.¡¡¡¡*.ini iii.¡¡¡¡Config*.* c.¡¡¡¡Parameter – the actual parameter that will be changed. Example: i.¡¡¡¡ Computer ii.¡¡¡¡NumberOfImages d.¡¡¡¡Change – The desired change to the value. i.¡¡¡¡Assign value – change the current value. Supports text and numbers. ii.¡¡¡¡Plus – mathematically add to a value. iii.¡¡¡¡Minus – mathematically subtract from a value. iv.¡¡¡¡Multiply - mathematically multiply a value. e.¡¡¡¡Value – the value to be put in the parameter. 8.¡¡¡¡Log – the program should list all the files changed, with the values that were changed. 9.¡¡¡¡File structure – there will be multiple files answering to the same name, and all of them should be manipulated. File will be located in very deep sub directories. 10.¡¡¡¡File format – the separator between the parameter and value will be an equal sign (=). The amount of spaces/tabs is unknown and shouldn’t be a requirement. |
