Access: Password protected, users will need to register via email with a certified .edu email address before they are able to enter the website. This email address will also be used for notifications regarding the member’s status. Upon registering users will need to fill our limited personal information: Name College Age Hometown Interests (i.e. music, movies, hobbies) Activities Classes Gender This information should be possible to track and categorize so that we can track the break down of our members and advertise in the most effective manner. *Members are able to see limited of one another until they agree to membership in a similar network. This function regulates the following details so that members may only see limited profiles until confirmed. Search Bar: Members should be able to search for other members using any of the aforementioned information/categories and thus be able to link up with other members with similar interests. Message Board/Wall: Members that are in a similar network will be able to post on one another’s wall. Mailbox/Messaging: Members will be able to send one another messages to private inboxes that only the intended recipient(s) will be able to see. There should be a reply, reply all, delete, and save option upon reading the message. Picture: Members should be able to upload a picture on their main profile page in addition to photo albums. Advertisementst: There should be an area where banners can be posted along the margins of the webpage for advertisements. This includes an interface for advertisers to send in their banners, job opportunities, or announcements. Also, a credit card payment structure. Advertisements must be confirmed by the webmaster and thus should go through an approval page first. Long-Term Support: The chosen bidder should be accessible and able to lend support in the future and have an effective cost structure for future maintenance, improvement, and general work on the website.
