Project Description:
1.Write a function that quantizes the HMMD color space into 32 and 128 cells (as outlined in the lecture slides). 2. Write a function that computes the color structure descriptor (using quantized HMMD space). 3. Write a function that extracts the 5 dominant colors from an RGB image (check posted code for a Matlab example). 4. Write a function that computes the distance between the dominant colors of 2 images 5. Test the posted EHD code, and identify at least two parameters that you could experiment with. 6. Write a function that computes the distance between two EHD descriptors (check posted EHD paper). You need to have at least 3 options for this function (weights to combine the global, local, and semi-global histograms). Experiment: 1. For any 12 images, compute the color structure descriptors using 32 and 128 cells. 2. Compute the pairwise Euclidean distances between the histograms (32 & 128 bins) of all the images. 3. Compute the pairwise distances between all the images using their dominant colors. 4. For the given 12 images, compute the EHD signatures for the different parameters. 5. Compute the pair-wise distances between the EHD signatures of all the image (for the 3 options). |
