| Project Description:
This project involves the creation of a gaming ladder for the game StarCraft: BroodWar. This game is currently played on battle.net servers by more than 100k people every day. It is my intention to create a ladder in order for gamers to be ranked. This project involves two parts: First, the creation of a ladder launcher. This program will launch the starcraft application and verify that the gamer is logged into the ladder. This launcher will also prevent the the user from simultaneously running inhale.dll, a cheat file common on the public server. This launcher should be able to report the result of ladder games to the ladder website and automatically update the standings. The second part of this project is the creation of the ladder website. As games are reported to the website, points should be added/subtracted from the user and the ranking is formed. This website will also feature a forum, intigrated administrative tools, and an intuitive and customizable interface enabling administrators to make changes. An example of a current (but inactive) ladder can be found at www.wgtour.com. An example of an out of date launcher can also be provided.
