Virtual classroom Requirements Firstly I wish to thank each person who has expressed an interest in developing a virtual classroom for me. Many of you have asked me to provide more detail therefore I have create this document which I feel should help you calculate the cost and time it will take you to develop my online classroom. Platform I wish my online classroom to be on either Flash communication server, Media serve, Or a open source Flash server. In your response to me please state which Platform you would use and give reasons for your answer. Please also tell me exactly what other laugnes u will be using such as php/asp etc Look and feel I have a good idea of what I wish my online classroom to look like however I will require you to give me some input and share ideas until I decide on the exact look and feel. The only Graphic which I will prove is a logo all other graphics are expected to be created by the coder Features I wish to implement all of the features stated below as well as many others. Only the features in Red are the ones I wish you to include in your costing. As the other features please quote an individual price for each of those.¡¡¡¡ Chat – A fully functional chat box which allows all students to chat in the main screen. The teacher has the ability to turn on and off the chat ability for each student. The Teacher has the ability to turn on moderate chat. Voice and Webcam – Up to 4 -6 people using Voice and video at the same time. The teacher has a complete control of who can talk at any time. A Mic Lock feature to allow ease of use. Whiteboard – Both teachers and students have the ability to annotate the slide. Teacher has ability to prevent students from drawing on the screen. Arrow feature to allow teacher to point at things on the slide.¡¡¡¡ Share Slides - The ability for the Teacher to pre upload a number of static slides (jpgs) for that lesson. So that there is a list of all slides uploaded the teacher need only select the particular slide he or she wishes to show the students. In the same way I wish them to be able to upload swf files they can also show the students. For more detail please refer to the top right side of the image I have provided. Share desktop – Teacher able to share desktop with students Remote control – Teacher able to take over control of students computer Pass control – Give another person in the room the ability to control the session e.e. slides etc Creating rooms There must be an ability to create an unlimited number of rooms. I do not want students to be able to see other rooms or enter other rooms. Only the room that they are enrolled for. The administer should have the right to enter any room at any time. Privileges There are four types of users who will use my online classroom. 1. Teacher 2. Student 3 Technical support 4 Administer below are all the rights whci I wish them to have. Teacher – control classroom, students, upload slides/swf files. Technical support – similar rights to teacher and able to enter any room. Administer - Has full rights to create rooms and remove students change passwords LM Learning Management System (lms) I require the virtual classroom to be connected to a fully functional LMS.. there are many open source out there such as moodle Sakai etc. Please create the online classroom so that it can put into any LMS. Please tell me which Lms you will use if you get the contract to create my online classroom. Software creating I will need the online classroom to be built in such a way that if in the future I need to add features any other programmer will be able to make these changes. This is the first time I have made a report such as this so please do forgive me if I have missed out anything important that you need to know before you can give me your bid.
