My client would like to receive tenders for the following project. Including details on how much programming would be required, how long it would take to build and how much manpower would be needed to maintain it, it is expected that thousands of people would be using the site on a daily basis. A global repository of presentations – built and used free of charge by the global community ? Slide presentations are posted onto the website by professionals and organisations ? Any user can register and download presentations free ? Users are encouraged to review and comment on presentations ? Over time the site will build into a central resource of thousands of presentations in a range of fields which users around the world will be able to access and contribute to Features of the site: ? Presentations will list the author, date of creation, subject etc, number of downloads and reviews/comments by other users ? Presentations are grouped by various types and are searchable by author, subject, trial, etc ? Reviews/feedback will be free to see and post and will provide a level of independent peer-review ? Features like “Most Popular Presentations” “Top Contributors” and “Featured Presentation of the Week” will provide site value to visitors ? Users can register a special interest and be notified of new presentations ? Contributors will be notified how many people have downloaded their presentation The site will be available globally, so may require distributed hosting and will require a fault-tolerant, scalable infrastructure. We are interested in hearing from developers with details on how long this will take and cost. Including upkeep and maintenance costs. The finished project should be easily updated by developers within the company, so a good back end system would also be useful. |
