Project Description:
I'm in need of a user authentication plug-in for my windows 2003 media services server. I run a subscription service through a vb forum through which we offer live streams as well as on-demand services (movies, etc...). As of now I do not have any real way to authenticate users except by trying to set connection limits overall through the windows media service counsel. This is what I need- I need user authentication which draws its usernames and passwords from the vb database of our subscribers and prompts them for the username in password through some method. I need to hide the link of the streams all together in some fashion (very important). For example, right now I send my customers the raw link being mms://ip/publishingpoint. I need it to be mms://scrambled/publishingpoint. So there is no way to obtain the IP from the streams or at least extremely difficult. If you can outline a plan to accomplish this through whatever methods you deem appropriate for a reasonable price it would be greatly appreciated. I’m aware of such things as DRM but I’m not sure how effective it would be at scrambling the link. |
