I need to design a software to automate the interpretation of laboratory results and chart the results in graphical colour coded bar charts. e.g If Total Cholesterol (TC)< 200mg (bar chart extend to the right and is yellow and comments is =Below Normal with Doctor's recommendation=Keep up the healthy lifestyle and continue to eat less oily food and do more exercises If TC=200 the bar chart shows green and the comments =Normal with Doctor's recommendations =recommendation=Keep up the healthy lifestyle and continue to eat less oily food and do more exercises If TC>200 but below 240 the bar chart shows Blue and comments =Borderline and Doctor's recommendation = You should do more exercise and cut down on oily foods and eat more vegetables. You may need to see your doctor for medications. If TC>240 the bar chart stretch towards the right in red colour and comments=your cholesterol is very high and you should seek treatment and dietary advice from your doctor. The software should allows for manual entry of data or data could be imported from standard formats (excel, access, txt). The software allows user to customize the different types of tests and set parameters for the values at which the bar chart will change colour and stretch according to the value and the corresponding comments and doctor's recommendations appear. It should also allow calculations based on certain values e.g Body Mass index = Height/Weight /Weight. The system should also allows for gender variations in the interpretatin of report. If Gender =Female the normal value could be different compared to Gender=Male hence the threshold for different colour charts and commentss and recommendations should be different. Sofware should be web based with patient log in to view report and doctor log in to update patient's particulars and for laboratory to upload laboratory data. Patient can update own information.
