I am needing a database with fields (code, downloaded, run) 3 cgi scripts, the first creates the unique code and enters it into the database, it then prints this code back to the user. the second script is used when the user enters a code into the website it checks it exists and then sets the downloaded field to true. the third checks the code exists again and run is false before setting it to true. the idea is that a purchasing service will use the first to create the code to give to the customer, the customer will then use this code to download from the website, the code will be built into the downloaded program and then the third script is accessed by the program to check that it is valid. this allows the program to only run once. this is very simple, i just have never dealt with cgi and database before. |
