Project Description:
Overview The project is to develop a showcase for a directory of digital media agencies. Initially there will be around 30 entries, but this is expected to expand as time goes on. It is expected that the interface will be constructed in Flash and dynamically obtain its content from RSS feeds provided by the Joomla CMS. Each agency profile consists of specific fields and is attributed to one or more of the following categories: · tv & film · moving image & animation · interactive media & digital imaging · computer games · music & radio Selection Grid When entering the showcase, each agency will be represented by an image and they are all arranged in a grid. Should the grid extend outside the viewable area, the user is able to scroll around the whole grid. As there is no defined order or hierarchy at this stage, items are positioned randomly whenever the grid is generated. Within this view, the user has the ability to isolate entries that match a specific category or search term. Once the criteria have been selected/entered, the grid is rebuilt to place matching items in the centre and non-matching items on the outside. The matching items are highlighted as per the visual design guide. Should the text search return a relevancy score then most relevant will be placed in the centre and least relevant towards the outside. When the user clicks on an image, any non-matching items disappear, the other items move to take up positions off-screen and the selected item morphs into the ‘detail panel’. Detail Panel The detail panel has 3 components; agency information, explore similar and navigation menu. The agency information will include most, but not all of the following: · Company Name · About Us · Service List · Client List · No. of Staff · Last years billings · Would like to meet · Contact details · Links · Gallery (tbc) ‘Explore Similar’ presents a list (possibly pictorial) of the 5 agencies which are most similar to the one shown (in ascending order). A curved line links each of these entries to the respective panel that is currently off-screen. Clicking on one of these entries would track the display along the line until the new panel is displayed. follow this link to see the designs that have been produced http://www.sdm-solutions.co.uk/DigitalCentral_V2 The project needs to be complete by end of April |
