I'm not entirely sure if C#, VB or C/C++ is more appropriate for this job, however I do know that this will be a very simple and small project for someone who knows what they are doing. I would like a small script / spider written into a windows software application that allows me to enter a few variables (keywords, domain names, etc.) and click submit, the spider would then go to the specified search engine (google, yahoo, msn) and conduct searches using their database. This would be done through multiple threads in order to increase the speed of the software. Finally it would then perform a search on the results pages for the top 10 to 1,000 results looking for a list of keywords that I input previously in the first step. Once the data is output, there would be a few basic sort functions and filters to view the data and export it to a .csv file. That's it! I've attached a preliminary mockup of the software for review. There will be 3 other small settings and interfaces screens besides this and there are a few additional features that still need to be added to the interface as you see it listed here. |
