Project Description:
I would like a simple PHP/MySQL/Ajax application (web 2.0). I have a good Web/Java engineering background but not PHP, so I will be able to help on some technical part. The application I want will target mainly one browser : Apple Safari, so no browser compatibility to worry here - but will appreciate if it works OK with FireFox too. The application will need to use some specific JavaScript library, and need to use CSS : the look of the app will be important but I will provide some screenshot on how it should look like, with some CSS to start with. The Javascript library to use will be moo.fx (http://moofx.mad4milk.net/) and another one will be used for encrypting users password (http://pajhome.org.uk/crypt/md5/). The development may require that you create a few images or graphics, but this is not the core of the project. The application will let the user signup for a new account, when the account is created a cookie will be set on the browser so at the next visit the PHP application will be able to 'recognize' the user. The Signup process will use a CAPTCHA image system but I will provide the technical detail on how it should work (should take less than 30 minutes to implement since I did already implement the same system in Java). The service my website will provide will let user add 'applications' to their main user page. An 'application' is in fact an icon, a URL that the browser will be redirected to when the user click on the icon, and the usual application name, and description (example of such application could be google maps, and clicking on the icon will bring the user to maps.google.com). All the 'applications' for a user will be listed in a grid view page. The PHP code should let a user add/remove/delete/re-organize the list of 'applications' he is setting up using Ajax (moo.fx). Users can potentially create some categories (Ajax), so he can organize applications accordingly (aka game, business, ...). The PHP application should let the user update his account information (username, password, ...) using Ajax. Of course their should be a way for a user to 'reset' his password by sending an email and a link to click. User of course should be able to logout in order to clear his browser cookie. Finally the PHP application should support a simple REST API call that will let another site 'add an application' into a category for a user (similar to adding bookmark through the del.icio.us link). Implementation should be clean enough so I can have in the future an XML-RPC implementation too. I have already a good part of the MySQL database schema define, a first set of the CSS files, and few static HTML pages, with various screenshot on how the app should look like. In addition, I would like to get a simple admin interface so I can manage the users (add,delete,...), the list of applications they have associated with their account, get some key stats on the usage of the service. The application may be able to send some Mail message out to communicate with the user (aka registration, password reset). Mail message should be able to be send as HTML + text (multipart) and it should be easy for me to provide the content. At project completion, I will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED with me prior to completing the work). This project could lead to more work so keep that in mind since it could be a long business relationship. |
