Short case description: Our organization has several dealers. Each of these dealers will be provided with their own CMS based -custom- website. Our needs: * We need a platform from which we can easily add websites (each with their own domain). * We have a product catalog which we control (images, descriptions etc.) On each site our product-catalog must be automatically available, the pricing of our products however must be controllable on a PER-site basis. Each dealer can choose the pricing of each product. * Each dealer will have the opportunity to maintain a productcatalog for their own business. Most of the dealers also sell products from other manufacturers. * Catalog description: - Product image, short/long description, price, manufacturer link - Product categories (hierarchical system with an unlimited depth) - Each product can be stored in multiple categories - Administration: add/delete/edit products and categories * News item distribution Our organization will need a way to post news bulletins to all related dealer sites. A news item will include, date, time, author, short and long contents a set -lifetime- ie. 1 week (item disappears after 1 week) and optionally 1 or more images. * Dealer pages A dealer will have the opportunity to add 0-5 custom categories in which 1 or more pages with information can be stored. Each page consists of a title, one or more alinea's. Each alinea can contain text and/or an image, the alignment of text and image must be adjustable on a per alinea basis. * Site options The administration of the dealer site is done by our organization. - Choose out of 6 templates - Define base-color, font-family, font-size etc. - Define hostname - Define database (central tables for the settings and the -central product catalog- from our organization, tables (prefixed?) for the dealer specific contents and product catalog. *All domains will point to 1 -virtual- website, this website will have to extract the domain-name, and publish the customized website for the dealer the domain belongs to. * Each dealer will have a basic (most of our dealers have very limited computer knowledge!) CMS to add/edit/delete custom sections and content. * Platform information: - Debian Linux with Directadmin (Apache/PHP/MySQL) |
