Project Description:
component that can import CSV file into content. 1. First the user will be asked to select section and category (actually category is must, because where it is going to be imported), 2. After selection of category, we to inform the user that the first value of csv file will be title. 2nd will be title alias. 3rd and 4th will be contents. For very simple contents will work. But suppose the content cotains "," character the import will fail. 3. Currently we are not giving any option in CSV import to setup meta data. 4. So, the CSV file generally will be looking like this, title, title alias, intro text, main text 5. It is to be clearly noted that all other fields will be default. It means, Although we are not giving "override create date" "start publishing" date or ordering, it is understood that they will take default values. Please monitor db and tables while inserting a content from CSV. so you will have ideas what tables are opened and added. 6. In the same way, data from xml too should be able to import. We feel that xml files are flexible and error free when we import contents. Because, it can contains html content too. Because it supports cdata tag. May be we can define a xml standard structure for our component, like, <xml> <title>Title of the content</title> <title_alias>alis of title </title_alias> <intro_text>this is intro text</intro_text> <main_text>thi is main text </main_text> <title>one more title</title> ... </xml To work on both 1.0.13 and the new 1.5 version. |
