Project Description:
Please note: I am looking for an expert and reliable offshore web programmer to whom I can outsource a large number of PHP/MySQL projects - both large and small - over the next few years. These projects include e-commerce and CMS implementations. The Dynamic Form Logger (this project) is a small "test" project that requires someone smart to do. I am outsourcing this to 3 different vendors (one of them through eLance) as a test, and will pick the vendor that does the best job for all my future projects, most of which are much bigger. In short, am looking for a long-term business relationship with a reliable PHP/MySQL developer. Here's what this project involves: A client of mine has a number of forms on his website where people can contact him, request a free quote, download his software, etc. The forms then email him the results. Simple stuff. I would like you to create a single PHP function called save_lead() that will save the information from all of these forms into a table in a MySQL database. If this project goes well, I'll then ask if you can create a simple "admin" area where my client can log in and download the leads from his website into a spreadsheet if some of them didn't reach his email. Here is the interesting part: This save_lead() function needs to be "flexible" and "dynamic." In other words, I want to be able to easily reuse this code for any form, on any PHP website, no matter what fields are on that form, without needing to restructure any database tables to accommodate each form's data. Please read through the attached file carefully. If you can think of a better way to do this than what I describe, that's OK - the only requirement is that it's done in PHP and MySQL. |
