| Project Description:
We have a requirement to produce an offline shopping cart. Our users are based on ships at sea and can only communicate over satelite which is very expensive. Thus, they do not have access to Internet browsing. They do however have access to email. we would like to produce a CD which they can browse products - like in a normal online store website, but instead of using a secure https connection to complete the transaction, it is submitted as an encrypted order file that can be emailed to us for processing. We would like to have the cart in web format - like a normal site. We know of several programs that can simulate a web server for this type of standalone application (Indigostar Microweb, Server2Go). We would welcome bids to provide a web ecommerce application that can be used on CD and that orders can be sent as email as explained above. If required we can purchase the licence for Microweb/server2go if it is needed. We have been in discussion with a company who produce software for carts - they have quoted $700 to produce our requirements, but we feel this is fairly high for a simple cart that only really needs the email processing of orders. Would welcome your bids and any comments on how we could offer this. |
