| Project Description:
This is a new website that will simplify how university students (and young professionals) rent property. We want to provide a new way to search for property, and innovative method for predicting, splitting and allowing payment of bills and rent by renters. We also want to run a credit system where the more people you refer to the service or the more properties you review the more money you get off your bills. We have a number of key principles as the basis for the website: It must be very easy and logical to operate. The relevant sections involving payments must be extremely secure. It must be neat and clean. User Experience: Main Service When a user logs on to the website for the first time they are given the option to register or view a demo (probably flash based). When registering they are asked for their UK postcode. After imputing they select their address (from uk postcode database) and fill out general details about themselves. Name, home address, term address, university, phone number, email address?? (The typical registration questions). The last step in registering is to provide an email address of all their flatmates. An automatic email will be sent to all of them telling them that x has joined and providing a unique link back to the website to allow them to find out more and join. Once all flatmates have joined the first person who joined will be sent an email telling them this and inviting them to join services. When they log in to the website they will fill out the rental details, current payment date and cost landlords email address. Then they will be directed to the price comparison section. They will fill this out like on moneysupermarket.com. However they will provide no billing address when ordering services. After ordering the services they will be given the option to spilt everything equally between renters or to split by a number of options. Initial options will be imputing how much each person pays for rent (total must equal value from previous section) and the usage % of each utility ordered (a further project will be to expand this to more options). When everything is completed emails will be sent to all flatmates confirming everything. Once a month an email will be sent to all flatmates telling them their bill is ready with a link to their personal area. There they can view a breakdown of this months bill (rent and all the different utilities they ordered) and summaries from previous months. All must be exportable to excel spreadsheet. Payment options will be debit card, credit card, bank transfer, direct debit, paypal. Rental Property Search Practically a clone of the rental search part of primelocation.com with additional search criteria possible. Free search access for renters. Easy upload for landlords properties uploaded by postcode. Landlords can only upload if rent payment by our system is an option. Landlords should have a number of different payment options for this service, tied into the uploading section. Shows pictures, description, payment methods, contact details, location map, transport links. Creates a pdf of all the details for downloading. ??ate My Landlord?? Similar to the site landlordreview.com however neater, cleaner and easier to use. People type in the postcode and select the address. Then they can rate the flat by area, noise, neighbours, facilities, travel links. Creates a 5 star rating for the flat by averages of the sections. Option to rate the landlord. Select the landlord from a list or add a new one. Rate them by the same criteria as on landlordreveiw.com. Once again creates a 5 star rating. Gives option to input username for site (if not logged in) to gain credits View rankings of landlords, and houses by area, number of reviews, map search etc. Link the rankings to any property that is on the rental search site and displays there. Additional Possible Projects We also need a system that will take email that we receive from the utility providers recover the total bill payment value and split them by the chosen options. They then need to be placed in the database to allow renters to view them and then send an email to the renters telling them the information is available. We are unsure how to run this though and will probably do it manually initially however any suggestions welcome. Customised ad banner Newsletter facility General Information: There must be a full user guide produced for all sections. Everything must be fully customizable and changeable with easily editable contents. We must have complete copyright control over all aspects of the final project. We would like detailed traffic stats to be provided on the different sections. Please price the sections independently as we are on a limited budget and depending on prices may need to postpone the development of certain sections. Please outline timing on the individual sections and complete development. All detailed bids considered. |
