Project Description:
For a short-term project we need an excellent web developer. If we like your work, we'd like to hire you more often. THE SHORT-TERM PROJECT Building a small website with webshop in CakePHP. The visual design is ready, available in pdf format, and needs to be converted into HTML/CSS. Visitors should be able to browse through products, put them in a basket and process their order (calculate total amount, add taxes and shipping costs, etc.). The administrator should be able to manage the products, as well as the other texts on the website. The assortment is limited: about 10 products at start-up. Every product goes with images, a description, etc. The site has several contact forms. The output of the forms needs to be send by e-mail to the administrator. Besides, the website should have a small news section. Every post has a title, content and possibly an image. Deadline for the project is November 21st. BUT, THERE'S MORE! We are very much interested in a long-term professional relationship. If we are satisfied with your work and enjoy the cooperation, we would like to hire you for future projects. REQUIREMENTS * An excellent and intelligent developer wilt a passion for clean, elegant, maintainable application design. * Open source minded. You prefer to integrate existing code rather than to code everything yourself. * Specialized in developing complex applications in an MVC framework environment, with excellent knowledge of PHP 5, MySQL, HTML/CSS and AJAX. You love web standards and knows how to deal with browser that do not. * Think twice and program once. Focus on making cleaner and more reusable/maintainable code. * Eye for detail. The visual design is like a perfect egg. As a developer you need to break down down the egg and be able to glue it back together, in a way that one can not see the difference with the initial design. * Read, write, speak and understand English very well. You prove that computer nerds can also have social skills and can be fun to hang out with. Preferably (so not necessarily) you live and work in the Shanghai/Hangzhou area. We visit China every once in a while, and it would be more easy to meet up if you're in that area. WHO ARE WE? We are a small web development company, based in the Netherlands. Our customers like us because we criticize their ideas and help them to improve their initial plans. Not just because we know how to build a great website. We're experienced in developing database driven websites, and large databases do not make us shiver. We have more work than we can handle ourselves, and we're excited to meet some like-minded people in China. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED We would like to see: * Your resume, with (at least) your contact details, plus your skills and experience. * Some links to websites that you have built lately. * Some PHP code written by you. Furthermore, let us know how many hours you think you will need to built the aforementioned website, what your rate is, your planning and which information you need from us. |
