I am building a Bittorrent site, and I'm in need of a little help from someone with knowledge of SQL and PHP. I have a PHP script that I use to get data from each uploaded file (seeders, leechers, announces etc..) and it does so quite well. The problem is that the results are being echo'd in a loop on a listing page, so when the listing page is loaded, every .torrent file indexed on that page gets analyzed individualy, which makes the page load extremely slow, if at all. As I understand, it is possible to put the script in a database table and run a cron job on it to get updated statistics every x minutes, and this is what I need. It should be fairly easy for somebody who knows what they're doing. If you know of another way to effectively make this task run smoothly, that's okay. The main goal is that the listing pages load at an axeptable speed. Newly added descriptions: Upon finishing this task, every torrent on the listing page should get their individual stats (seeders, leechers, announces, size..) updated every x minutes instead of when a user enters the page. I will need to be able to set/change x minutes. |
