Project Description:
I need an application (and probably some electronic design), so that when I plug in a mini 'fan' into a USB port (such as this one: http://www.lakewoodconferences.com/catalog/96/528/194883/sell_usb_fan.html), it will automatically launch an application that controls the speed at which the fan is spinning. This application will be a very simple 'driving simulator' and will need to work on a new Apple Macbook (it would be nice if it worked on a PC too). When the fan is plugged in, the application will launch automatically (autoplay?). Then, when the user plays with the driving simulator, the fan will need to spin faster as the car "drives" faster (and slower when the car drives slower). ie. the speed of the fan spinning will be controlled by the user input into the 'driving simulator' application. Please let me know if you're able to complete the whole project, or if you have a suggestion for simplifying it. If you can only complete the programming (and not the electronics), I may be able to get the electronics done by someone else -- I'll just need this 'driving simulator' application to communicate with the USB port. If you can complete the electronics too, I will need around 10-20 of these fans (with any custom electronics required), and designed in a way that is as small/subtle as possible. |
