I have developed my own php/mysql search script for my website, but i need some new features added and I need it optimized. 1. I need it to have the ability to search queries less than 3 characters, currently it always shows 0 results. 2. I need it to have pagination-- it to show 16 results per page and then show the number of page there are results for up to 10 pages total. I also need this to be a post variable such as if the script is run from search.php?terms=whatever&p=1 (where p is the page #) 3. Have the script automatically take into account plural words and non plural words and add the opposite automatically. So if someone searches for "beach" it will automatically add "beachs and "beaches" into the search. If someone searches for "beaches" it will automatically add "beach" and "beache". (automatically add 's' and 'es' and automatically take them off) without notifying the user that these terms have been added. (don't show them in the post variable. 4. Any other improvements or ideas the developer has to help make the search engine better. |
