| Project Description:
This project is to build a set of web applications using javascript only. Each application will be loaded into the browser in a single html file and the associated javascript for each application will be contained in various .js files. There are no round trips to the web server as there is no server side code involved with the applications. Data is send and received via web service calls. The first applicaiton will provide a web site that allows users to view photo albums. A collection of albums is retrieved via the web service, and when an album is selected by the user, a collection of photos can be retrieved from the web service. The photo collection will contain URLs to thumbnail and full size images for each photo. The combination of existing html elements on the page, with html elements generated by the javascript code, must display the photos. This javascript application will provide multiple"pages" for the web site. It will actually only be only a single html page, but button clicks will use styles to hide and show various DIVs to give the user the impression of changing pages. For this first application, the additional pages required will include: home page, contact information, various information pages, and customer login. Multi browser compatibility is important. Using a library like jQuery or Mootools is acceptable. It is not possible to duplicate all of the features of flash site with javascript. These sites are used to show the various page layout styles, menu styles, arrangement of thumbnails and full images for each picture. The fourth site is javascript only. |
