Use VB.net to find the nearest distance between 2 lines in 3d, its for Phd Project in Civil engineering. the 2 lines have coordinates in 3D. we need to find where is the closest distance occure. Newly added descriptions: The coordinates that I use is relative coordinates as X,Y, Z. But the most important thing is that: The algorithm that you produce should check for the minimum distance between any pair of line segments among a series of line segments (let we say n number of lines) and the efficiency of the algorithm with regard to time will be of great consideration. In another way: I need to check for intersection between any pair of lines segments in 3d, so if the nearest distance between them is equal to zero this means intersection occurs if not check for another pair. |
