Project Description:
Functionality: A gated page with login for privileged members. Once loged in the user can add/update their business info (schema is done). The info includes, hours or operations, email, website, phone number and etc. Again for the same user, the ability to use to create an online Brochure on our site with their browsers. A user might have multiple brochures (but mostly one). Each brochure will have sub section. Each subsection will have 1 or more items. Each item has a name, a short description and a price. Each user has the privilege only to manage their brochures. The user will have the ability to create a subsection and add individual items to each subesction. The user can move the display position of an item up or down inside a subsection (using drag and drop) or move it to any other subsection. The display order of a subsection needs to be drag-and-droppable as well. Each addition of item is stored in the database along with a position of the item via ajax. We do not want to make the user wait for the page to reload. This is so the user can add the next item while the info is sent to the server to be saved. The brochure is displayed on a web page (we have comps made already) and it's driven by MySQL (we have the schema as well). It would also allow the user to create a PDF version of the brochure. Our application is tomcat 5.5 and we are mostly looking for jsp/servlet technology. PHP maybe considered but we would need to change our cookie architecture so we can make the privileges work with our jsp codes as well. The client code needs to support most possible browsers. Our site will have more projects so this could be bigger than just one job. |
