Project Description:
Need to repair or rebuild mysql database. Please read attachment It started with the fact that my success with importing records into an empty table often results in 30,000 blank records because of the way excel converts to csv and requires all the empty col and row to be deleted before saving as csv. So, before I imported 300 records into the LIVE table, I first made a copy of the live table as a backup with a different name. Then I made a second copy with a different name. Into this second copy I pulled the import records. The import worked fine. SO I renamed the original LIVE table something else, and then renamed the newly updated table back to the original name. Client tried writing the query against any of the other copies of the original LIVE table and none of them will process this new query properly. then I found that mysql article about renaming tables and dealing with the lock issue. |
