| Project Description:
This project is to create a tool to assist in planning shopping trips around a city centre or shopping centre. The system would require a database of shops, complete with descriptions of their characteristics and relative locations. The user would then: describe the kind of items they wish to buy, e.g., clothes, CDs, books; their time available; breaks en route in coffee shops, pubs or particular places of interest; and so forth, and the tool would assist in the creation of a feasible route that meets these criteria. The tool should be web-based and adaptable to different databases. There should be a graphical mechanism by which tours can be visualized. The project can be made flexible in its degree of difficulty by amending the sophistication of the search algorithms used in order to obtain the tour.
