Database Administrator: We are a United States, Silicon Valley based start-up company expanding to China and are seeking hard working, ambitious and above all talented database administrators to join us. Our company structure will resemble a Silicon Valley start-up company. Chosen candidates will be expected to begin working March 22, 2010. Housing and food will be provided. Wages to be determined based upon experience. At our company you will be confronted with many challenging projects and opportunities to excel above and beyond as well as being a part of a growing company that will soon emerge as a major player in the online space. At our company, we thrive on innovation and the pursuit of technological greatness. English will be the predominant language used and as such a strong English understanding is preferred, but not required. The following criterion reflects what we would like our potential candidates to possess. Requirements: - Deep understanding of RDBMS structures and how they interact: tables, indices, triggers, procedures, etc. - Experience with data model design and database stored procedure development - Familiarity with data warehousing and data reporting - Experience with resilient database implementations (clusters, mirrors, replicas) - Expertise in database performance tuning and optimization - Exceptional problem solving skills - Ability to work in both team and individual environments - Ability to learn and pick up new technologies, tools, etc. Beneficial: - Previous experience with MySQL or Oracle databases - Previous experience in client-server integration - Previous experience in virtual worlds/multi-player game development - Knowledge of highly scalable database implementations - Previous experience with Unix/Linux environments |
